The Science and Engineering Alliance, Inc. (SEA)
Creates Access and Open Doors of Opportunity for Minorities
The Science and Engineering Alliance, Inc. (SEA), was founded in 1990 as a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt consortia, to serve four state-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and a national laboratory. The purpose of the SEA is to help ensure an adequate supply of competitive American scientists and engineers, while meeting the research and development needs of the public and private sectors. SEA services include: Technical Marketing and Community Relations, Development of training and experiential programs for faculty and students, Creation of partnership opportunities with public and private sectors, Enhancing Research Opportunities and Advancing National Goals. The strength of SEA is an understanding of its members that the "sum is greater than the individual parts."
SEA Mission
Broadening participation in federally funded research projects by creating access and opening doors of opportunity for underrepresented and underutilized individuals, institutions and regions that do not participate in these projects at the rate comparable to others.
SEA Vision
To be known as the one-stop unique resource for broadening participation in federally funded research initiatives.
