on National Science Foundation (NSF) BIO Directorate Funding Opportunities

The first workshop produced results --
“The SEA-NSF Workshop that I was fortunate to attend in 2008 has prepared me well for the road ahead. It is with great excitement that I inform SEA that I’ve been award two NSF grants since then. I am grateful to SEA and its programs that assist junior faculty members in obtaining
federal funding. Keep up the outstanding work. I hope SEA continues to receive funding to conduct workshops that will help Junior Faculty learn how to move forward.”

Participants like Dr. Shantå Hinton, who participated in the first SEA workshop have been very successful --

"The contact I made with my program officer, Dr. LaJoyce Debro, at the workshop was very instrumental in being granted an award.  I hope SEA continues to receive funding to conduct workshops that will help Junior faculty learn how to obtain funding.
